Gayle had launched a scathing attack on Jamaica Tallawahs in a YouTube video, after being released by the franchise. He was especially scathing of owner Krish Persaud, CEO Jeff Miller, and Sarwan, Gayle’s former West Indies teammate, whom he called a “snake” and accused of being deceitful and untrustworthy.

Sarwan had responded to the allegations, saying they were false, but Gayle has drawn the wrath of the governing body. “It cannot be good for West Indies cricket obviously. It is certainly not something that I enjoyed reading about,” Skerritt told i955fm, a Trinidad-based radio station, last week.

“If he was on contract with Cricket West Indies, and to a certain extent it is by being in the CPL, so we kind of have a watching interest. But we’ll wait and see what happens.

“Look, am not condoning Chris, am not judging Chris. Chris clearly has a number of concerns on his mind and he decided to go public. Personally I think that was unfortunate, but the process will have to take its course and that process will get triggered because he is a contracted player in the CPL within the West Indies league.”
