Paul Farbrace will step in as England coach for the upcoming T20Is against Australia and India.
Trevor Bayliss, the head coach, will spend the time watching the England Lions in action against the A squads of the West Indies and India, a few County Championship matches and the One-Day Cup final on June 30.
Farbrace, the assistant coach, will step up to the head job for the one-off T20I against Australia on June 27, and the three clashes against India from July 3 to 8.
Bayliss has, in the past, copped criticism for his limited knowledge about county cricket. A packed international schedule left him with little time to watch prospective players in England’s premier first-class tournament.

He will resume his duties as coach for the ODIs against India. The three-match series starts on July 12 at Nottingham.
Bayliss is expected to step down as England coach following the World Cup and the Ashes in 2019, and Farbrace is considered one of the candidates to replace him.
Farbrace has had considerable success as head coach of Sri Lanka, winning the World T20 and the Asia Cup in 2014. He also helped England transition between the sacking of Peter Moores in 2015 and the arrival of Bayliss.
