England and Ireland have confirmed the fixture list for the latter’s tour of the country and all three ODIs will be at the Ageas Bowl.
The first ODI will take place on July 30 with the series a short and sharpone, ending on August 4. England will play two warm-up games at the Ageas Bowl, on July 21 and 24. It is not yet confirmed what practice games Ireland will play. England have confirmed a 24-strong training group, including seven uncapped players, from which the squad for the ODIs will be chosen, while Ireland are yet to name a squad.
The ODIs against Ireland will be sandwiched between two three-match Test series England will play against West Indies and Pakistan. The former will end on July 28, and the latter will start on August 5.
England and Ireland have never before contested a three-game bilateral series, with all their engagements having been one-off encounters, save for a two-match ODI series in 2017. There have been several memorable moments in that time however. On the first day of the 2019 Test between the sides, a Tim Murtagh five-wicket haul helped bowl England out for 85, while in the 2011 World Cup, Kevin O’Brien hit the fastest-ever World Cup hundred to secure on of cricket’s greatest updates. However, that remains the only Irish victory over England in 10 games played between the sides
