England will take on India in a Test match and a pair of ODI and T20I series from July 1 to 17, 2022 – here’s the complete schedule, list of fixtures along with match timings and venues.
The series will, strangely, encompass the final Test of India’s 2021 series in England, with the scoreline currently standing at 2-1 to India. India’s tour will begin with a multi-day warm-up game against Leicestershire, with a pair of white-ball tour games against Derbyshire and Northamptonshire taking place alongside the one Test match, which starts on July 1 at Edgbaston.
The T20I series will then run from July 7-10, and the ODIs from July 12-17. England’s last white-ball encounter against India took place in India in early 2021. India won both series, but each was hotly contested. The hosts took the T20Is 3-2 and the ODIs 2-1.
In the Tests, England will be led by Ben Stokes, who has recently taken over the job from Joe Root, in charge for India’s visit last year. India’s captain for the Test series decider has also changed, with Virat Kohli replaced across formats by Rohit Sharma since India’s departure in September 2021.
England will be coached in the Tests by former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum, while Matthew Mott will lead England’s white-ball sides. Rahul Dravid will take charge of the India side.
