England stars Ben Foakes, Tom Curran and Sam Curran have all signed new deals with current County Championship title-holders Surrey. Both Foakes and Tom Curran will remain at the club until 2021, while Tom’s younger brother Sam has re-signed until 2020.
The announcement will come as a further boost to the county after nine other members of their squad pledged their immediate futures to Surrey last week. Experienced duo Gareth Batty and Arun Harinath signed on until the end of the 2019 season; academy trio Will Jacks, Ryan Patel and Ollie Pope agreed two-year extensions, while Scott Borthwick, Conor McKerr, Mark Stoneman and Amar Virdi all prolonged their stay at the Oval by a further year.

All-rounder Sam Curran has become an integral part of England’s Test squad after starring with both bat and ball to be named Player of the Series in England’s 4-1 Test win over India last summer. Foakes was also the recipient of a Player of the Series award in 2018, having shone with the bat and wicketkeeping gloves in testing conditions during England’s 3-0 series win over Sri Lanka.
Whilst both Foakes and Sam Curran are currently featuring for England in their three-match Test series in the Caribbean, Tom Curran is representing Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League, and is expected to join up with England’s limited-overs side for the upcoming ODI and T20 series against the West Indies.

It’s a credit to everyone at the Club that our players want to sign contract extensions and help play a major part in building on the success of last year.”
