The ECB have confirmed that England will take on South Africa this winter in four Test matches and six one-day contests.
The tour begins on Boxing Day when South Africa and England meet in Centurion for the first red-ball outing. This will be proceeded by three Test matches in the new year at Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg.
Following the Ashes against Australia this summer, the Test series will be England’s second in the ICC World Test Championship format, with Joe Root’s side hoping for a similar performance to the 2015/16 tour, where they won the Test series 2-1.
Eoin Morgan, whose ODI side start their ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 campaign against the Proteas next week at the Oval, will then lead the limited-overs team at the start of February 2019 in three ODI matches at Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.
The tour finishes with three T20Is at East London, Durban and Centurion.
