Moeen Ali and Jamie Porter will be released from their England duties, allowing them to play in some crucial T20 Blast fixtures over the weekend, the ECB has confirmed.
Ali and Porter were initially a part of England’s 13-man Test squad to play in the ongoing first Test versus India. Worcestershire off-spinner Moeen was left out of the England XI in favour of Yorkshire leg-spinner Adil Rashid.
The surprise pick has become one of the most debated selections of recent times after Rashid made himself unavailable for red-ball county cricket earlier this year.

Contrary to the 50 caps earned by Ali, Jamie Porter still awaits his Test debut after a hard-earned first squad call-up. However, Essex will gladly welcome back their seamer because their T20 form this season is in need of repair.
The Eagles firstly travel to Canterbury to take on Kent Spitfires in the ‘Battle of the Bridge’ on August 2.

Moeen is also to play consecutive matches for Worcestershire Rapids. Firstly at New Road against Durham Jets this Friday, followed by a trip to Trent Bridge to take on Notts Outlaws the next day.
