Craig Overton and Ollie Robinson shared the final five Australian wickets
England Lions wrapped up a nine-wicket win over Australia A at the MCG on Tuesday, with Craig Overton and Ollie Robinson starring for the visitors.
Australia A began the final day of the match on 180-5 in their second innings, trailing England’s first innings total by 72. Overton struck first for the Lions, breaking a partnership worth 67 between Kurtis Patterson and Jack Wildermuth by removing the latter.
The Somerset seamer then accounted for Michael Neser 2.4 overs later before Robinson took the final three wickets as Patterson was left stranded on 94. Overton finished with match figures of 6-101, while Robinson’s final haul across the four days read 7-147.

England were left with a target of 20, which they reached in 7.4 overs with the sole loss of Dom Sibley, who was dismissed by Jackson Bird for 3.
The victory is England Lions’ first against Australia A, having endured four losses, two draws and an abandonment in their seven previous contests.
The Lions’ final fixture on their tour of Australia is a four-day match against New South Wales at Wollongong, beginning on March 2.
