Australia all-rounder Ellyse Perry has won the Rachel Heyhoe-Flint Award for the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year.
It is the second time Perry has claimed the honour – she won it for the first time in 2017 – and comes off the back of a year that saw her score three hundreds and help Australia to an Ashes series win in England.
“It’s an amazing honour and I’m a little bit shocked, given how many amazing performances there have been across the year,” Perry said. “It’s amazing to be acknowledged and I do truly appreciate it. It’s a really nice way to finish the year on a personal note.”
At Canterbury in 2019, Ellyse Perry claimed 7-22, the best ODI figures by an Australian woman, to all but seal the Ashes. @Ben_Wisden dissects the effort, voted second in Wisden’s spells of the decade.https://t.co/E9S29U93fk
