The ECB face the prospect of a summer without a principal sponsor after Specsavers seemingly opted not to renew their sponsorship of England’s home Tests and the County Championship.
All branding for the glasses specialists has been removed from the England Cricket and County Championship social media accounts, with the latter plumping for a particularly rough-and-ready zoomed-in crop. All mentions of Specsavers have also been removed from the ECB website.

Specsavers had been the principal sponsor for home England Tests since the start of 2018 and had been naming partners with the County Championship since the 2016 season.
The timing of the sponsorship void is less than ideal. In a bid to protect clubs in both the professional and amateur game, the ECB launched a £61 million emergency package last week and the potential cost to the ECB of a cancelled season is around £300 million, according a letter from Tom Harrison seen by ESPNcricinfo.
