The 63rd edition of the Duleep Trophy will be played in Alur and Bengaluru from June 28 and July 15, 2023. Here are the Duleep Trophy 2023 schedule, full fixtures list, match timings, and venues.
After undergoing multiple overhauls, the Duleep Trophy returned to its usual inter-zonal format in 2022/23, its first post-pandemic season. The usual five teams – the North, West, East, South, and Central Zones – were joined by a sixth, North-East Zone.
West Zone won the 2022/23 edition, defeating South Zone in the final. The two teams qualified directly for this season’s semi-finals, awaiting the winners of the quarter-finals, Central Zone versus East Zone and North Zone versus North-East Zone.
The two quarter-finals will be played simultaneously, in Bengaluru and Alur, as will be the semi-finals. M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru will host the final, from July 12.

West and North Zones have won the Duleep Trophy 18 times, followed by South Zone (13 times), Central Zone (six), and East Zone (tw0).
There have, however, been exceptions to the inter-zonal format. In 2002/03, the five Ranji Trophy groups – Elite A, B, and C, and Plate A and B – were the five teams.
The Duleep Trophy returned to the inter-zonal format in 2003/04 and continued until 2014/15. However, between 2003/04 and 2008/09, every edition featured an overseas team, often the A team of the touring nation.
After a year’s gap, the tournament was reinitiated, and was contested between three teams – India Red, Blue, and Green – until the COVID-19-induced global lockdown of 2020.
