Dominic Cork has been appointed as Derbyshire’s T20 head coach for this year’s Vitality Blast.
Cork, who spent 13 years at Derbyshire as a player, has been the club’s specialist T20 bowling coach over the last two years. He will replace John Wright, who alongside Cork, helped Derbyshire reach the quarter-finals of the Blast in 2017.
“The opportunity was too good to miss and I’m delighted to be back with Derbyshire,” said Cork.
“The club is dear to my heart – it’s where I started my career – and I’ve been grateful to work alongside John Wright in the last two years as the team has progressed.
“We’ve got players here who can win Twenty20 games and we’ve already upset the odds on a number of occasions.”
Ryan Duckett, Derbyshire’s chief executive said: “Dominic is a Derbyshire great and a proven winner with a great track record as a player.
