Shikhar Dhawan might have faced the best of bowlers from around the world, but recently found himself at the receiving end of some canny bowling by an opponent half his size, who, incidentally, also goes by the name Dhawan.
With India currently under a nationwide lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, Dhawan has found ways to keep himself busy, often sharing bits from his personal life on social media. His latest video on Instagram has him facing his own son, Zoravar, in what he’s termed the ‘Quarantine Premier League’.

The opening batsman went as far as inputting commentary and crowd cheer in the video, which showed his six-year-old son hurling a tennis ball at the batsman. Dhawan displayed a couple of his trademark strokes, and even had a little one-on-one with the bowler in the middle of the marble pitch.

The left-hand batsman countered the bowler’s quick-arm action fairly well, and even “reaches 99” according to the running Hindi commentary. However, a faster one from Zoravar found its way past Shikhar’s bat and cleaned him up, leaving the batsman stranded on double figures. Impressive fast bowling, it.
Once cricket resumes, Dhawan will surely be wary of that quick inswinger early on, having spruced up his technique against the little Dhawan.
