Dawid Malan has moved to third in the ICC T20I batting rankings after finishing as the top run-scorer in England’s 3-2 series win over New Zealand.
Malan’s 208 runs in the series came at an average of 69.33, with his T20I career-best of 103* coming in the fourth match, as England cruised to a 76-run win after hitting 241-3. The century was England’s fastest in the format, coming off 48 balls.

The series saw Malan make his return to England’s T20I XI for the first time since February 2018, and his absence in the format had seen him drop out of the T20I rankings. His batting average in the format now stands at 57.25 after nine matches; no batsman has tallied as many runs as the new Yorkshire signing after playing the same number of T20I matches.
England skipper Eoin Morgan and New Zealand’s Martin Guptill have moved up to share ninth position in the rankings. Morgan hit 192 runs in his five innings against the Black Caps, while Guptill was his side’s top-scorer in the series with 153 runs.

In the bowling rankings, New Zealand left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner has moved to second place after taking 11 wickets in five matches against England. Deepak Chahar, who took record-breaking figures of 6-7 against Bangladesh on Sunday, has made a jump of 88 places up to 42nd position.
