Kane Williamson and Akila Dananjaya have been reported for suspect bowling actions, the International Cricket Council (ICC) have announced.
Williamson and Dananjaya both bowled in the first Test between New Zealand and Sri Lanka in Galle last week, and the match officials’ report cited concerns over their bowling actions.
New Zealand skipper Williamson bowled just three overs in the match, but Dananjaya’s bowling performance was key in the six-wicket Sri Lanka win, as he took a five-for in the first innings.
Lord’s isn’t looking too pretty at the moment, but there’s cricket happening in Sri Lanka.

This is not the first time Dananjaya and Williamson have had their actions under inspection. Williamson was banned from bowling in international cricket in July 2014 before being cleared later that year; Dananjaya was suspended from bowling in international cricket in December 2018, his deliveries exceeding the ICC’s tolerance of a 15-degree flex when bowling.

The Sri Lanka spinner’s action was subsequently cleared in February of this year.
The pair will have to undergo testing within a fortnight of August 18, when they were reported. Both Williamson and Dananjaya will be able to continue bowling until the results of the tests are known.
