Women’s cricket will feature in the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham for the first time with the fixtures getting underway on July 29 — here’s the full schedule, match list and start times for the CWG cricket games.

The first and last time cricket was a part of the Commonwealth Games was in 1998, when 16 men’s teams played the 50-over format over the course of 11 days. South Africa won the gold medal.

This year, women’s cricket makes its appearance in CWG 2022, with all matches to be played in the T20 format. All matches will be held at Edgbaston.

A total of eight teams will take part in the event, with 16 games to be played. Pakistan, Australia, India and Barbados are in Group A, while Sri Lanka, England, New Zealand and South Africa constitute Group B. All sides will face the teams in their group once, before the top two countries from each group advance to the semifinals. The two losing teams in the semis will clash off in the bronze medal match.

The event will begin with Australia taking on India on July 29, which will be followed by another Group A clash, as Pakistan take on Barbados. July 30 will see the Group B teams in action: New Zealand taking on South Africa before hosts England face Sri Lanka.
