Which teams are in CSA 4-Day Series Division 1 2024-25 final?

The Lions finished the round-robin phase of South Africa’s premier first-class competition unbeaten. The Titans, meanwhile, lost two of their matches and will now seek to avenge their defeat to the Lions in the T20 Challenger final earlier.

Both finalists saw their final league matches washed out. Table-toppers Lions (115.14 points) had their game against the Knights abandoned without a ball bowled in Bloemfontein. The Titans (108.56), meanwhile, secured a drawn match against Boland in Centurion, where just under 135 overs were possible.

Where will the final between Lions and Titans be played?

The title clash – a five-day encounter instead of the regular four-day format – will be played from April 10 to 14 at the Lions’ home ground, the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

Who are the players to watch out for?

White-ball prodigy Dewald Brevis continued his first-class resurgence, blasting 80 off 57 in his last outing. He’ll now aim to build on his breakthrough season – already amassing 547 runs at 88.65 (the fourth-highest tally this season). Titans’ captain Neil Brand has also been among the runs, amassing their second-highest tally (424) this season.

The Lions, meanwhile, have relied on collective batting efforts. Zubayr Hamza leads with 425 runs at an average of 53.12, while opener Dominic Hendricks has contributed 400. Their standout, however, is Bjorn Fortuin – snubbed for a national contract – who has 335 runs at an average nearing 50 and 11 wickets. The Lions may also be boosted by Temba Bavuma’s availability for the final.
