Sean Williams retires from T20Is
Zimbabwe all-rounder Sean Williams has announced his retirement from T20Is following the conclusion of the Zimbabwe-Bangladesh series. Williams played the final game of the five-match series, the only one that Zimbabwe won. He will continue to play for the side in ODIs and Tests. Zimbabwe haven’t qualified for the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup.
Ramandeep Singh fined for Code of Conduct breach
KKR batter Ramandeep Singh was fined for an IPL Code of Conduct breach during the KKR vs MI match in Kolkata. According to a media release, “Ramandeep committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.20 of the IPL Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction.” He was fined 20 per cent of his match fees.
Anderson to retire after West Indies Lord’s Test
James Anderson, the most successful fast bowler in Test history, has confirmed he will retire after the first Test of the summer against the West Indies at Lord’s. Having made his Test debut in 2003, he will end up on 188 Test caps, just behind Sachin Tendulkar.
Trent Boult plays his 100th IPL match
Trent Boult became just the second New Zealand player after Brendon McCullum to feature in a 100 IPL matches. His milestone match came against Chennai Super Kings at the Chepauk.
