PCB makes domestic cricket, fitness tests compulsory
After the sacking of selection committee members Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq last week, the PCB announced on Monday that "several key changes" were in the works for centrally contracted players regarding their obligations towards Pakistani cricket.
Without revealing too many details, the PCB stated that participation in domestic cricket wold now be compulsory for national team players, and that regular fitness tests would be carried out for them. Another notable development was that the board would now review central contracts on an annual basis, instead of every three years as instituted last year.
The PCB touched upon the topic of NOCs as well, saying that they would be issued based on a "technical method", the specifics of which are unknown at this point.
According to reports from ESPNCricinfo, the PCB are unlikely to grant NOCs to some key all-format players for the Global T20 league in Canada starting July 25.
