The Covid-19 pandemic has cancelled all live sport, delayed the start of the club cricket season, and even curtailed winter nets, but cricket fans are too resourceful to let that stand in their way.

With years of practice whiling away rain delays, cricket lovers are better placed than most to survive weeks on end cooped up indoors, and the array of inventiveness shown in continuing to put bat on ball in one form or another shows no signs of slowing.

There have been creative indoor setups…

…while some clubbies have gone all out to create actually useful training drills.

There have been plenty practicing facing the short ball, though struggling against the bumper appears to be a national ailment we just can’t shake.

But whatever you do, do not bowl full, as this seated seamer found out to her peril.

Still, at least she had someone to play with, rather than having to fill every role herself!

There were some proper Monty Panesar vibes with this effort…

…but our favourite had to be this interpretive recreation of an unforgettable moment!
