The 2024 Champions One-Day Cup, one of the three new competitions introduced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to bridge the gap between domestic and international cricket, will start on September 12. Here are the provisional squads.

Champions One-Day Cup 2024: Which teams are playing?

The inaugural edition of the Champions One-Day Cup consists of Pakistan's top 150 cricketers. The teams gunning for the title are the Dolphins (led by Saud Shakeel), Lions (Shaheen Afridi), Panthers (Shadab Khan), Stallions (Mohammad Haris) and Wolves ( Mohammad Rizwan).

"Out of the 150 players, 125 were leading performers from the past three domestic seasons. The remaining 25 players were wildcards, selected based on their experience and performances for Pakistan, Pakistan Shaheens and Pakistan Under-19 teams over the last three years," read a Pakistan Cricket Board release.

Champions One-Day Cup 2024: Full schedule

The league games of the 50-over competition will be played between September 12 and 22 followed by the Qualifier on September 24, Eliminator 1 on September 25 and Eliminator 2 on September 27. The final will be played on September 29. Find the full schedule here.

Mohammad Nawaz (personal reasons), Imad Wasim (unavailable), Arshad Iqbal, Hasan Ali, Ihsanullah and Mohammad Wasim Jnr (undergoing rehabilitation) are among the list of centrally contracted players not participating in the competition.

Ahmed Shehzad has pulled out, accusing the PCB of "injustice and favouritism".
