While Hyderabad beat Madhya Pradesh, and TNCA President's XI defeated Gujarat to enter the semi-finals yesterday, a couple of matches awaiting results went into the fourth day. Here's all the action on the fourth day of the third round matches of the Buchi Babu tournament 2024.
TNCA XI vs Mumbai: Day 4 round-up
Mumbai began the day with a mountain to climb, chasing a fourth-innings target of 510. Resuming at the overnight score of 6-0, Musheer Khan (40) and Divyansh Saxena (26) stitched together a partnership of 60 runs, but Mumbai could not count on too much more.
Achyuth C V and captain Sai Kishore, hero of TNCA XI’s match against Haryana, picked up three wickets each, denying Mumbai any momentum. Barring Shams Mulani (68), no batters were able to contribute significantly. Suryakyumar Yadav, who made his red-ball return in this match, didn’t bat due to an injury sustained while fielding. Mumbai were all out for 223, allowing the TNCA XI to race to the semi-finals.
Sai Kishore was the Player of the Match for his eight wickets during the match, including a 5-36 in the first innings.

Baroda vs Chhattisgarh: Day 4 round-up
On day four, Baroda started resumed their second innings with 91 runs behind Chhattisgarh's first. Like Mumbai, the batting side stitched a decent opening stand of 61 runs between Jyotsnil Singh (58) and Priyanshu Moliya (16), but after that collapsed. Left-arm spinner Shashank Tiwari was the wrecker in chief, claiming 5-57. Baroda were skittled for 175.
Chhattisgarh gunned down the required 76 runs in 8.4 overs for the loss of two wickets, with quick-fire knocks from Ayush Pandey (39*) and Shashank Chandrakar (33). With that result, they sealed a semi-final berth as well.
