In reply, Mumbai lost wickets in clusters, with Shreyas Iyer (2) and Suryakumar Yadav (30) making their red-ball comebacks failing to impress. Mumbai were reduced to 141-8, owing to TNCA XI’s three-pronged left-arm spin flotilla – Lakshay Jain S, R Sai Kishore and Ajith Ram S.

Gujarat vs TNCA President's XI: Day 2 round-up

On day one, Gujarat faced early jolts as TNCA President's XI skipper M Siddharth, took all of the first four wickets to fall, leaving them 55-4 in 18.1 overs. But three successive partnerships of 70-plus runs hauled them out of trouble as Kshitij Patel scored 62 and Jaymeet Patel an unbeaten 125. Today, Gujarat added another 50 runs for the last three wickets, with Patel ending his innings on 144 off 244 balls.

TNCA President's XI batters were clueless, getting all out for 211 in response. Barring Mohammed Ali S (56) and Andre Siddarth C (55), no batter was able to find it comfortable in the middle, thanks to a 6-61 from Siddharth Desai, another left-arm spinner with a remarkable outing.

With a 160-run ahead, Gujarat lost their former captain Priyank Panchal (2) early in the second innings before being reduced to 2-2, owing to Siddharth's crafty left-arm spin.
