The semi-final of the 2024 Buchi Babu tournament kicked off on Monday (September 2). Here is the full round-up of all the action from day four.
Hyderabad vs TNCA President's XI: Day 4 round-up
The match was evenly poised for an exciting finish on the final day. Hyderabad, resuming on their overnight score of 227-7, added another 46 runs for the remaining three wickets, with T Ravi Teja (42) and C V Milind (53) contributing. Mohammed M picked up 5-59.
Chasing 259 on the tricky surface, the President’s XI started well with a 60-run opening stand between Radhakrishnan S (40) and Vimal Khumar R (22). That was as good as it got for them as Hyderabad's best bowler in the first innings, Tanay Thyagarajan, once again spun a web around the batters with his wily left-arm spin.
Madhava Prasad K T A (39), first-innings centurion Rithik Easwaran S (22) and Mohamed Ali S (31) all got starts but couldn't convert them into big scores, resulting in their team being all out for 195 in 68.2 overs. Thyagarajan picked up another five-wicket haul, finishing with 5-62, while his partner in the spin attack, Aniketh Reddy took 4-59. Hyderabad won and qualified for the final.
Final score: Hyderabad 313 (Hima Teja 91*, Mohammed M 2-49) & 227-7 (Rohith Rayudu 61, Mohammed M 5-59) vs TNCA President's XI 327 (Rithik Easwaran S 100, Tanay Thyagarajan 7-95) & 195 (Radhakrishnan S 40, Tanay Thyagarajan 5-62). Hyderabad won by 64 runs.

Chhattisgarh vs TNCA XI: Day 4 round-up
A draw was enough for them to guarantee a spot in the final, and that’s exactly how they went on with their business. Captain Amandeep Khare, who fell for 97 in the first innings, struck a 94-ball 77 on the final day, including eight fours and two sixes.
Lakshay Jain S picked up 5-64, taking wickets at regular intervals, but given Chhattisgarh’s firm grip on the result, they were completely unfazed. After 82 overs in their second innings, with the score at 207-8, the expected result panned out, with the match ending in a draw as they had a 273-run first-innings lead. Prateek Yadav was the Player of the Match for his 132-ball 109.
Chhattisgarh will now play Hyderabad in the summit clash, scheduled to be played between September 8 and 11.
Final score: Chhattisgarh 467 (Prateek Yadav 109, Ajith Ram S 5-109) & 207-8 (Anuj Tiwari 40, Lakshay Jain S 5-64) vs TNCA XI 194 (Ajitesh G 39, Gagandeep Singh 4-34). Match drawn. Chhattisgarh qualified for the final by taking the first innings lead.
