Rithik Easwaran S celebrates Buchi Babu Tournament 2024 semi-finals

The semi-final of the 2024 Buchi Babu tournament kicked off on Monday (September 2). Here is the full round-up of all the action from day three.

Hyderabad vs TNCA President's XI: Day 3 round-up

After resurrecting TNCA President’s XI’s innings yesterday, Rithik Easwaran S, resuming the third day on 83, completed his much-deserving century. However, he failed shortly after the landmark, thanks to Tanay Thyagarajan, who registered a five-wicket haul. Thyagarajan finished with 7-95, ensuring Hyderabad conceded only a 14-run first innings lead in reply to their 313.

Batting second, Hyderabad slipped to 28-3, but a 104-ball 61 from Rohit Rayudu gave them some stability. After Rayudu departed in the 36.2 overs, with his team at 114-4, Hyderabad lost three more wickets for just 35 runs. T Ravi Teja (33*) and C V Milind (37) took their team to 227 at the end of day three without further hiccups. Gurjapneet Singh and Mohammed M took three scalps each for the President's XI.

If the President’s XI can grab early wickets tomorrow, they will have a firm grip on the game.

Score at stumps, day three: Hyderabad 313 (Hima Teja 91*, Mohammed M 2-49) & 227-7 (Rohith Rayudu 61, Gurjapneet Singh 3-27) vs TNCA President's XI 327 (Rithik Easwaran S 100, Tanay Thyagarajan 7-95). Hyderabad lead by 213 runs.
