The semi-final of the 2024 Buchi Babu tournament kicked off on Monday (September 2). Here is the full round-up of all the action from day two.

Hyderabad vs TNCA Presidents XI: Day 2 round-up

The match between Hyderabad and TNCA President’s XI is evenly poised after day two. In response to Hyderabad’s 313 in the first innings, opener Vimal Khumar R (75) gave the President’s XI an ideal start. They were comfortably placed at 140 in the 49th over before suffering a collapse, where they lost five wickets for 60 runs. Left-arm spinner Tanay Thyagarajan was the wrecker-in-chief, picking up four scalps.

Rithik Easwaran S (83*) and Mohammed M (41*) got together to arrest the slide, taking the President’s XI to safety without further damage.

Score at stumps, day two: Hyderabad 313 (Hima Teja 91*, Mohammed M 2-49) vs TNCA Presidents XI 291-6 (Rithik Easwaran S 83*, Tanay Thyagarajan 4-78). TNCA Presidents XI trail by 22 runs.

Chhattisgarh vs TNCA XI: Day 2 round-up

Chhattisgarh resumed on their overnight score of 294-3, with captain Amandeep Khare and Prateek Yadav at the crease. The duo stitched a 164-run stand, with Prateek scoring a 132-ball 109. The left-hand batter brought up his landmark with a six off spinner Ajith Ram S. However, Khare, like Ayush Pandey (82) and Anuj Tiwari (93), fell on the brink of a century, at 97. The batting team went to stumps on day two at 450-9 in 146.2 overs.

For TNCA XI, Ajith and Lakshay Jain took four wickets each but conceded over 100 runs.
