Sam Billings and Dawid Malan have been named in England’s 14-man T20I squad for the three-match series against West Indies, but some star names will rest up ahead of a hectic summer of international cricket.
Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes will return home after the fifth ODI against the Windies, while Jason Roy, who scored a blistering 85-ball 123 in the first ODI, will also miss the series as he attends the birth of his first child.
Billings and Malan, the captains of Kent and Middlesex respectively, make their England returns for the first time since last year’s tour of Australia and New Zealand.
The T20I leg of England’s tour of the West Indies starts on March 5 in St Lucia.
