Ben Stokes’ home address was one of over 1,000 of those who had been awarded New Year honours accidentally posted online by the government.
A spreadsheet containing the addresses of 1,097 recipients was uploaded to the official website, but has since been removed. The Cabinet Office have said the document was visible for around an hour.
“A version of the New Year Honours 2020 list was published in error which contained recipients’ addresses,” said a government spokesperson. “The information was removed as soon as possible. We have reported the matter to the ICO [Information Commissioner’s Office] and are contacting all those affected directly.”

Stokes was awarded an OBE, while England’s World Cup winning captain Eoin Morgan received a CBE. Joe Root and Jos Buttler were awarded MBEs. Outside of England’s current playing staff, former head coach Trevor Bayliss was awarded an OBE, while ECB chairman Colin Graves received a CBE. It is not yet known the breach also affected the other cricketing recipients of honours.
