West Indies named a 15-man Test squad led by Kraigg Brathwaite to take on Bangladesh in a two-match Test series that begins in Chattogram on February 3.
With regular Test captain, Jason Holder absent from duty alongside quite a few other names, Kraigg Brathwaite will lead a depleted West Indies Test squad on their Bangladesh tour.
According to a Cricket West Indies release, Holder, Roston Chase, Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks and Shai Hope are players from the Test squad who “declined the opportunity to tour due to Covid-19 related concerns or personal fears”.
Shane Dowrich was also unavailable for personal reasons, guaranteeing a place in the XI for Joshua da Silva, the only other regular wicketkeeper in the 15-member squad.

The uncapped trio of Kavem Hodge, Shane Moseley and Kyle Mayers were included in the Test squad. Moseley and Mayers had toured with the West Indies to England and New Zealand as reserve players.
Moseley has been in good form of late for West Indies A and could be in line for a debut at the top of the order. Mayers was the second-highest run-scorer in the 2019/20 domestic season in the Caribbean Islands and can be a handy medium pace bowler too.
Hodge is a left-arm spinner who has returned good performances in the domestic competitions, but he might have to wait his turn with two other left-arm spinners in Veerasammy Permaul and Jomel Warrican in the squad. Rahkeem Cornwall is the other spinner likely to start.
