The much-awaited 10th season of Bangladesh’s premier franchise T20 competition, the Bangladesh Premier League, will be played between January 19 and March 1, 2024. Defending champions Comilla Victorians will play the curtain-raiser against Durdanto Dhaka at Mirpur, while runners-up Sylhet Strikers will flag off the season against Chattogram Challengers later in the day at the same venue.

Apart from these two teams, five other franchises – Fortune Barishal, Chattogram Challengers, Rangpur Riders, Sylhet Strikers, and Khulna Tigers – will compete in the tournament.

There have been plenty of changes in the squads across the seven teams. Two of Bangladesh’s biggest superstars – Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan – changed their alliance. While Mushfiqur switched from Sylhet to replace Shakib as Barishal’s captain, the latter will be at the helm of Rangpur in 2024.

With four titles, Comilla is the most successful team in BPL history. Litton Das has been appointed as their captain this year. He has replaced Imrul Kayes, who led them to consecutive titles in 2022 and 2023.
