Babar Azam‘s delightful response to a letter from a five-year-old fan proves that the Pakistan star doesn’t just ooze class on the field.

On Thursday, Somerset Cricket Club shared a letter addressed to Babar Azam by one of his youngest fans; five-year-old Oscar scribbled a tribute for the ‘best T20 batsman’. In the note, Oscar described Babar as his ‘favourite cricket player’, and recalled his meeting with the Pakistan batsman, after having undergone an operation, also attaching a picture of Babar holding the young one.

The note went on to describe Babar as the ‘captain of the Pakistan team’, and a batsman who ‘hits big sixes’. Somerset shared the post with the caption: “The hero of millions including 5-year-old Oscar who sent in this…”

Babar, whose fandom spreads far and wide, tweeted a response to one of his youngest admirers, thanking him for the note and expressing his wish to meet Oscar soon. Calling the young fan a ‘rockstar’, Babar replied: “Hey Oscar, thank you so much for such a kind note. I am so proud of you buddy. You are a rockstar. Study hard & play even harder champ! Look forward to meet you.”

With a simple response, Babar clearly made the little fan’s day, and highlighted, yet again, why he’s looked upon as an ideal role model for youngsters.
