In these unprecedented times, you’ve to make do with what you have, and Jimmy Anderson has set a fine example of that, doing bench presses with his daughters in the absence of access to gyms, during self-isolation brought on by the threat of coronavirus.
Maybe you didn’t read that right. When we said he was doing bench presses with his daughters, we meant he was using them as his weight equipment.
And they seemed to enjoy it too, bursting into fits of giggles as Jimmy lifted them. Anderson said: “The girls are more than happy to help me train at home”.
It’s a novel workout routine in these times of self-isolation, and it was impressive, too, with Anderson managing quite a few lifts in a row. Not bad for a 37-year-old!

It’s not exactly the sort of fitness one needs on the cricket field, but importantly, it showed how fit Anderson actually is.
Niggling injuries have crept up on the veteran recently, but if you needed any reassurance that the veteran will be fine to take the field once the cricket does resume, here it was.
