England beat New Zealand by five wickets in a classic Test match run-fest at Trent Bridge.
Jonny Bairstow was the star of day five, as he blasted 136 off 92 balls to take England to a remarkable win as they chased 299 in 50 overs on the fifth and final day.
What makes the result all the more remarkable is that New Zealand scored 553 in the first innings, which is the sixth highest total of all time to be scored by a losing team in a Test match.
Below are some of the best reactions from those watching around the world:
Jonny Bairstow, an innings of a lifetime, one of the best counter-attacking 4th innings you will ever see.Well done England , Test Cricket is Best Cricket. #ENGvNZ pic.twitter.com/BV5dVzbIqk

What have we just seen? England have knocked off 299 in exactly 50 overs, and have beaten the world champions with a Test to spare. If you took advantage of free entry today at Trent Bridge, well done you.

Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow's partnership is worth 179 in exactly 20 overs – which is more than England have made four of the last five times they've batted first in a T20 international

Jonny Bairstow has a staggering century, from 77 balls. It's England's second-fastest in Test cricket, and Bairstow's third in six Tests.
He had 43 from 48 balls at tea. Now 102 from 77. Mad.

If this is how England are going to play Test cricket, then this could well be the start of a new era for Test cricket, not just their cricket #ENGvNZ

Since we have session data (2006), the three fastest scoring rates for lads scoring 90+ runs in a session are:
Jonny Bairstow at Trent Bridge 2022 – 12.7rpo
Brendon McCullum at Christchurch 2016 – 10.6rpo
Ben Stokes at Cape Town 2016 – 10.5rpoFolks, this could be a fun era

Can’t not wish for more days like today for Jonny Bairstow. Stunning cricketer who could just be into his best iteration as an international batter #EngvNZ https://t.co/bL3XrTzwf5
