Alex Hales did not feature in Nottinghamshire’s match against Lancashire on Friday due to ‘personal reasons’.
On the club’s website, the county side stated: “Alex Hales has made himself unavailable for selection for personal reasons and no timetable has been set for his return to action.”
Earlier this week, Hales – who has represented England in 11 Tests, 70 Tests and 60 ODIs – was named in his side’s provisional 15-man squad for this summer’s Cricket World Cup, set to begin on May 30 when England take on South Africa at The Oval.

Joe Clarke top-scored for the home side with a 99-ball 139 before Australia’s James Pattinson took 5-61 to help Notts to a win in their first One-Day Cup fixture of 2019.
