What's the latest team news for AFG vs SA 2024 ODIs?

Hashmatullah Shahidi will lead Afghanistan, with Rahmat Shah acting as his deputy. The series also marks the return of Rashid Khan, who missed the last ODI series against Ireland due to an injury. However, they will be without the services of Ibrahim Zadran and Mujeer Ur Rahman. While Zadran is recovering from an ankle sprain, Mujeeb is ruled out due to a right phalanx sprain.

Top-order batter Abdul Malik, who recently impressed in List A competitions, has been named as a replacement for Zadran, while Darwish Rasooli, who has seven T20I caps to his name so far, has been added too.

For South Africa, Temba Bavuma will lead the side. Jason Smith and Nqaba Peter, who have played T20Is before, earned their maiden ODI call-ups. Andile Simelane has also been given his maiden international call-up. Lungi Ngidi has fully recovered from a right calf injury and is named in the squad.

After the three ODIs, South Africa will play Ireland in a white-ball series. Find South Africa's squad for the Ireland series, here.
