Here’s the full schedule for Afghanistan in 2022:
2022 schedule: Afghanistan v Netherlands (home)
January 2022
Afghanistan will host the Netherlands for three ODIs, with the matches set to be held at the Asian Town Cricket Stadium in Doha, Qatar.
Afghanistan v Zimbabwe (away)
January-February 2022
Right after their trip to Qatar, Afghanistan will travel to Zimbabwe for three ODIs and five T20Is.
Afghanistan v Bangladesh (away)
February-March 2022
Afghanistan, who travelled to Bangladesh in 2019/20 for a multi-format series, will fly again for three ODIs and two T20Is in February and March.
Afghanistan v India (away)
March 2022
After the Bangladesh tour, Afghanistan will visit their neighbouring country (where they play their home games) for a three-match ODI series. The two teams haven’t participated in a bilateral ODI or T20I series yet, although Afghanistan visited India for their debut Test in 2019.
Afghanistan v Australia (home)
May-June 2022
Afghanistan will host Australia for a three-match ODI series in the middle of the year. The side was supposed to travel to Australia for a historic one-off Test, but the series got cancelled in November.
Afghanistan v Ireland (away)
July-August 2022
The side will play one Test and five ODIs against Ireland. They played three one-day matches against Ireland in early 2021, winning all three games. They also hold the record for the highest T20I score ever against the team, scoring 278-3 against Ireland in 2019.
Asia Cup 2022
August-September 2022
The first Asia Cup in four years will be held in Sri Lanka, and the matches will be held in the T20I format. The tournament was originally supposed to be held in 2020.
T20 World Cup 2022
October-November 2022
The 2022 T20 World Cup will be held in Australia, the second time the T20 global tournament will be held in back to back years. They won two out of their five matches in the group stages of the 2021 edition.
Afghanistan v Zimbabwe (away)
November-December 2022
After playing Zimbabwe early in the year, Afghanistan will face the team again at the end of 2022, for a multi-format series featuring two T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests.
