The Adelaide Oval is set to host a pink-ball Test between Australia and India, during the latter’s tour of the country later this year, according to cricket.com.au.
India are set to tour Australia for a four-Test series, starting in December, and this will be their first pink-ball assignment on Australian soil. India only recently played their first pink-ball Test, at home against Bangladesh last year.
The schedule, which is subject to several potential changes, depending on the development of the Covid-19 situation, has Brisbane listed down as the venue for the series-opener. That will be followed by the day-night Test, before the series winds up with the two traditional events, the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne and the New Year’s Test in Sydney.

The start of the Test season will be marked by Australia’s first ever clash against emerging side Afghanistan at the WACA. If the Test goes ahead as planned, it will be the first at the WACA in three years.
Cricket Australia are grappling with multiple issues at the moment, including a likely postponement of the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled for October. The India series remains integral for the board’s financial health, which has already taken a massive hit due to the Covid-19-enforced shutdown of world cricket.
