Watch: Entire Bangladesh slip cordon chases ball to boundary in Sri Lanka Test

Five Bangladesh fielders chasing

Watch: On day three of the second BAN vs SL Test in Chattogram, the entire Bangladesh slip cordon, consisting of five fielders, ran in sync to chase a ball to the boundary.

Batting first, Sri Lanka put up a massive score of 531 in the score in the first innings, breaking several records in the process. In response, Bangladesh started well, but the Sri Lankan seamers kept the pressure on, creating regular breakthroughs which eventually resulted in the hosts collapsing from 96-1 to 130-6, only to be bowled out for 178.

They did come back strongly in the Sri Lanka second innings, however, reducing their opposition to 15-2 in the third over, before taking four more wickets towards the end of the day to leave the visitors 102-6, leading by 455 runs.

Five overs before stumps on day three, a funny incident occurred on the field. Prabath Jayasuriya edged a back of length ball by Hasan Mahmud through gully. Bangladesh had four slips and a backward point in place – all of whom ran for the ball in an attempt to chase it down to the boundary.

Eventually, it was the backward point fielder who slid and stopped the ball. He relayed it back to the fielder who ran from third slip, who then threw it back to the wicketkeeper.
