The 10th edition season of the Bangladesh Premier League begins on January 19. Here is the full list of captains for BPL 2024.

Bangladesh Premier League 10 will be played between January 19 and March 1, 2024. Durdanto Dhaka will host defending champions Comilla Victorians in the tournament opener, at Mirpur, one of the three venues of the tournament, along with Chattogram and Sylhet.

Apart from the two teams, BPL 2024 will feature five other teams – Fortune Barishal, Chattogram Challengers, Rangpur Riders, Sylhet Strikers, and Khulna Tigers.

The seven teams will play each other twice in a double round-robin league format up to February 21. These will be followed by the Eliminator (February 25), Qualifier 1 (February 25) and 2 (February 27), and the final (March 1).

Mushfiqur Rahim (Fortune Bairshal): Former Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur moved from Sylhet to Barishal this year, and will replace Shakib Al Hasan at the helm. From 257 Twenty20 matches, he has 5,381 runs at a strike rate of 126, and 190 dismissals.

Shuvagata Hom (Chattogram Challengers): Chattogram replaced Ziaur Rahman as captain with batting all-rounder Hom, who has 1,437 runs at a strike rate of 136 and 50 wickets at an economy rate of 7.61 from 126 games.

Imrul Kayes (Comilla Victorians): After Comilla appointed him as captain in 2022, Kayes responded by leading them to back-to-back titles, in 2022 and 2023. With four titles, they are now the most successful team in BPL history. From 163 matches, he has 3,333 runs at a strike rate of 117.

Saif Hassan (Durdanto Dhaka): Saif played for Barishal in 2023. Later that year, he led Bangladesh when they won bronze medal at men’s cricket at the Asian Games, and was subsequently signed by Dhaka. His 800 runs from 34 games have come at 113.

Shakib Al Hasan (Rangpur Riders): Having led Barishal the previous season, the legendary Shakib will be at the helm for Rangpur in 2024. Apart from Dwayne Bravo and Andre Russell, Shakib is the only player to have done the 6,000 run-400 wicket double in Twenty20 cricket.

Najmul Hossain Shanto (Sylhet Strikers): The Player of the Tournament in the 2023 edition, Shanto will replace Mashrafe Mortaza as Sylhet captain. He has 2,866 runs at 120 from 129 matches.

Anamul Haque Bijoy (Khulna Tigers): Yet another former Barishal cricketer, Anamul will lead Khulna in 2024. From 164 matches, he has 3,312 runs at 118 along with 91 dismissals.
