Team selector: Pick your Test team of the year, a combined XI of the best performers from 2020 and the back-end of 2019, as part of Wisden’s 2020 in Review series.

The World Test Championship didn’t get into full gear after Covid-19 disrupted the cricket calendar, and indeed everyday life the world over this year. But there were still a few performances of the highest order in Test cricket, with some players maintaining their consistency despite the break in action.

For our Test team of the year, we took into consideration the period from December 11, 2019 and December 11, 2020, meaning the upcoming Border-Gavaskar trophy’s performances will not be factored in till next year. A total of 23 Tests were played during the period and we have added all the top performers from the time frame in the selector. You can select the XI you think is the strongest.
