Team Selector: Pick your England XI to face the West Indies when the two sides kick off their three-match Test series next month in the Caribbean.
In announcing a 16-man squad for the series, England opted to leave out their two leading fast bowlers, Stuart Broad and James Anderson. Other casualties from the squad that was thrashed by Australia in the Ashes are Dawid Malan, Rory Burns, Haseeb Hameed, Jos Buttler, Dom Bess and Sam Billings.
There are four players uncapped at Test level in the squad for the series: Durham opener Alex Lees and Yorkshire quick Matt Fisher have received maiden call-ups, while the Lancashire duo of Saqib Mahmood and Matt Parkinson have also been included.
The ECB’s interim managing director of men’s cricket Andrew Strauss, who was part of the selection panel that chose the squad, has already revealed that Joe Root will move up from No.4 to No.3 in the batting line-up for the series. But do you agree with that decision?
