Team selector: Pick your England T20I XI to face India

Team selector: Pick your England XI to face India when the two sides kick off their five-match T20I series.

Following the four-match Test series, attention will turn to the shortest format, with the series opener to take place on March 12.

Included in the squad for the series are a number of players who have been rested for parts of England’s Test series with Sri Lanka and India: Moeen Ali, Jofra Archer, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Ben Stokes and Mark Wood.

Joe Root remains out of England’s current T20I plans while Alex Hales was unable to win a recall despite finishing as the highest run-scorer in the recently concluded Big Bash League.

Liam Livingstone is included in the squad, offering him the chance of playing his first T20I for England since 2017.

The series will serve as a chance to get accustomed to conditions ahead of this year’s T20 World Cup, which will be held in India.

England have named Jake Ball and Matt Parkinson as reserve players.
