Watch: The Andy Flower six in Australia that fetched him $50,000

by Wisden Staff 1 minute read

Watch: Andy Flower, playing for West End Redbacks side in 2003/04, hit the jackpot when his six hit an ad hoarding, which earned him Australian $50,000.

The ING Cup in Australia had an ad hoarding which batsmen could target to earn prize money and in the 2003/04 edition, Andy Flower became the sixth batsman ever, and the first in the season, to hit the sign while playing for the Redbacks.

Flower’s six came off part-timer Marcus North in the death overs; a slog sweep that hit the target bang on the middle, making his stint in Australia quite a lucrative one.
