Watch: In IPL 2013, Ricky Ponting took an extraordinary catch off the first ball of the innings against Delhi Daredevils when playing for Mumbai Indians.

The highlight of Mumbai’s batting early in 2013 was the opening pairing of Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting. However, in this contest, we got to witness much from the duo as Tendulkar was dismissed for one and Ponting for zero.

It didn’t take long, however, for Ponting to make a mark in the game. On the first ball of the Delhi innings, Unmukt Chand got a leading off Harbhajan Singh and Ponting at cover flew across to try and take the catch. He lost balance, but regained footing quickly and put in a full-fledged dive to complete a stunning one-handed take.
