Watch: Rahul Dravid slaps three straight sixes in his first and last T20I
by Wisden Staff 2 minute read

Watch: Rahul Dravid, known for his technical prowess and defensive abilities, displayed a different version of himself on his T20I debut in 2011, slamming three consecutive sixes against England.

The right-hander, who was India’s only bright spot in a 4-0 drubbing in the Tests, was unceremoniously called back to their white-ball sides for the LOI series scheduled for the later half of the tour. While Dravid promptly announced his white-ball retirement after the call-up, he still made himself available for the five-match ODI series and one T20I that followed.

Since India were to play just one T20I against England on that tour, Dravid comically made his debut and retired from the format in the same game. While the technically solid Dravid was not considered to be a T20 asset, he showed a different side to himself on the day, stunning fans and commentators alike.

Having trudged to 13 off 16 balls, Dravid swiftly changed gears, depositing Samit Patel for three consecutive sixes in the 11th over. Eventually, he ended with 31 quickfire runs off 21 balls.
