Watch: MS Dhoni made a cheeky attempt to stump Shikhar Dhawan out off Moeen Ali’s beamer that flew well above the batsman’s head.

Dhoni is known for his game awareness and quirky stumpings, and on Saturday in the match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals, he attempted to pull off a stumping off Ali’s loopy delivery.

While bowling, the ball slipped out of the England off-spinner’s hands and flew well over Dhawan’s head to ‘keeper Dhoni. Even as Dhawan stood a tad stunned by the beamer, Dhoni made a quick dash to try and stump the batsman out.

Of course, there’s no way that could have happened even if Dhawan was out of his crease because it was a no-ball and stumped dismissals are disallowed off such deliveries.
