India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, currently sidelined from the Test team due to injury, sparked confusion among fans on Twitter after he posted a video on social media that carried a similar template to the ones featured in MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina’s retirement posts.

The video, which had a string of Jadeja’s on-field photos with emotional background music, caused a stir among cricket fans on Twitter.

The post read: “As a kid it was my dream to play for our amazing country and 12 years later since my International debut, it still feels like it was just yesterday. Playing for India is a feeling that cannot be described in words and there is no bigger honour. Thank you for all the love.”

His post on Instagram carried the hashtag: “#12YearsInInternationalCricket” a small footnote to mark the 12th anniversary of his international debut, which many users seemingly missed.

The fact that it was posted at 19.47pm IST, around the same time as Dhoni’s retirement post, sparked even more confusion among fans, who were left surprised when the former Indian captain had announced his departure from the international arena in August 2019, mentioning the rather specific time 19.29pm IST in his post.

As confusion made way for creativity, one fan decided to take a step further and added the background song “pal do pal” from Dhoni’s retirement post inside Jadeja’s video:
