Jason Roy handed fine and suspended two-game England ban

Jason Roy has been handed a fine and a suspended two-game England ban by a disciplinary panel of ECB’s Cricket Discipline Commission.

According to an ECB media release, Roy was found guilty of breaching the ECB Directive 3.3. The release stated: “A Disciplinary Panel of the Cricket Discipline Commission has announced its sanction on Jason Roy after he admitted a charge of conducting himself in a manner which may be prejudicial to the interests of cricket or which may bring the game of cricket, the ECB and himself into disrepute, in breach of ECB Directive 3.3.”

The release said that he has been “suspended from the next two England matches for which he is eligible for selection, but that such suspension be suspended for 12 months dependent on good behaviour.”

He has also been asked to pay a fine of £2,500 by 31 March 2022.

According to the release, Roy has admitted to the charges, after a full disciplinary hearing heard “all available evidence”.
