The 2022 Maharaja Trophy, Karnataka State Association’s latest T20 tournament, will begin on August 7 and will feature a number of India stars — here’s where you can watch the edition, along with live streaming details.
Prominent names Mayank Agarwal, Manish Pandey and Devdutt Padikkal will take part in the upcoming KSCA Maharaja T20 Trophy. A replacement for the Karnataka Premier League (KPL), which had been scrapped because of match-fixing scandals, the newest offering will be held in two cities, Mysore and Bengaluru.
Six teams will take part: Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters, Hubli Tigers, Gulbarga Mystics, Mangalore United, Shivamogga Strikers and Mysore Warriors. Each team will play a total of ten league games, taking on every other side twice. The top four teams will then progress to the playoffs.
There had been a Draft for players ahead of the start of the tournament, with players being divided into four categories: A, B, C and D. Category A included India and IPL players while Category B had cricketers who had taken part in senior tournaments such as the Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy or the Syed Mushtaq Ali Tournament. Category C consisted of age group players, who are currently involved with the under-19 or under-23 teams, while Category D was for Emerging Talent.
There were 14 players in Category A, and 32 in Category B, along with 111 and 583 players in Categories C and D, respectively.
