Watch: That’s huge – Shivam Dube smashes 111-metre six to help CSK to monster total against RCB
Watch: Shivam Dube scored a blistering cameo in his team Chennai Super King’s game against Royal Challengers Bangalore, including smashing a monster 111-metre six today (April 17).
A few days after Faf du Plessis hit a huge 115-metre six at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, CSK’s Dube came near to replicating the feat, first smashing a 101-metre maximum before sending another hit 10 metres further into the stands two overs later.
Walking in to bat at 90-2 in 9.3 overs, Dube hardly took any time to get going, hitting the third ball he faced over the ropes. The fourth ball of the 11th over by Glenn Maxwell was a full-length delivery, which the all-rounder smacked over the bowler’s head to continue his team’s onslaught.
He followed it up with a bigger shot five balls later. Harshal Patel was the bowler this time, and he could only watch helplessly as his slow full toss was smoked over long-on, into the second tier. The hit was recorded at 111 metres, making it one of the biggest sixes in the IPL.
Dube reached his fifty off 25 deliveries and was eventually dismissed for a 27-ball 56.
